Phil Gillin retired in November 2019 and at that time was Executive Vice President and Portfolio Manager at BentallGreenOak, a member of the Sun Life group of companies. In that position he was responsible for the management $14 billion in real estate equity and commercial mortgage assets held by Sun Life. He was also the fund manager for 2 mortgage funds held by third party investors. Prior to joining Sun Life in 1998, Phil was an Executive Vice President at The Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited. Phil remains active on 2 investment committees at BentallGreenOak and is on the board of MCAN Mortgage Corporation where he is a member of the Audit Committee and the Chair of the Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance Committee. In the not-for-profit sector, Phil is on the board of Toronto Artscape Incorporated, a former member of the Executive and Real Estate Committees of the Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto and is the current chairman of the Catholic Children’s Aid Foundation.
