It’s the most wonderful time of the year where children and youth’s eyes light up at the sight of gifts, food, clothing – tangible items that make for a memorable Christmas. And we need your help to make this happen!
Through our Adopt-A-Family Program, families, and youth served by the Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto are matched with donors who purchase gifts – giving them a better Christmas.
In 2020 and 2021, the program helped over 500 families. A huge thank you to the individuals, companies, communities, churches, and schools for the generosity and contributions to this program.
We hope we can count on your support again this year.
Christmas Donations Program
If you would like to make a difference in so many families’ lives this holiday season, you can donate either online or by dropping off toys and other gifts at our drop-off location.
You can donate new and unwrapped toys, clothing, and other household items.
You can make a monetary donation online that we can pool together to buy gift cards in bulk along with other gift items.
We invite you to read the FAQ section below to learn more about the program.
Unfortunately, no. We request that all gifts be new.
Donated gifts are eligible for a charitable receipt under specific circumstances. Receipts for purchased gifts are received and verified. Click here to download the charitable tax receipt form and instruction sheet.
We recommend donating online (Please select ‘Gift Cards’ under the donation designation) that we can pool together to buy gift cards in bulk.
We provide new toys and other gifts for children 0-12. We are always in need of Brown and Black dolls and action figures for both boys and girls. We discourage toys guns or other toys which promote violence.
We request that donations be dropped off no later than December 9, 2022. This is to allow our staff to deliver the gifts to the families before Christmas day.
Drop-off location is at unit __ Ground Floor, 2206 Eglinton Ave. East, Scarborough M1L 4S7. Click here for a map.
Drop-off schedule will be posted in November.
Please do not wrap gifts. It is best to put each child’s gift into a large gift bag or supply the gift wrap for parents to wrap their children’s presents. Gift wrap and gift bags are always welcome; we never have enough.
CCAS staff delivery the gifts to their assigned families and children. We are committed to ensuring that all gifts are delivered to the family in time for the Christmas holiday.
Unfortunately, due to confidentiality and privacy laws, this is not possible.
If you are participating to the Adopt-A-Family Program, every effort will be made to have a thank you card for every donor.
If you are participating to the Christmas Donations Program, due to the way in which toys and other gifts are distributed to children and youth, this is not possible. Families understand the gifts are donated and always are very grateful.
You can send us an email at email@example.com and we would be happy to reach out to you.
